Brendon Mearns
Meet our award-winning New Vehicle Sales Manager, Brendon Mearns.
Brendon leads our professional sales team, responsible for the sale of our new Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Brendon already has an excellent history with our dealership and the Mercedes-Benz brand. In fact, he currently holds the title of National Sales Manager of the Year; an award he has now won for the past two consecutive years!
Brendon took some time out from his schedule to answer a few questions.
What's your role at Mercedes-Benz North Shore?
I am the New Vehicle Sales Manager. Ultimately I'm responsible for the profitability and success of our new vehicle department. To achieve this I need to effectively manage our sales personnel, have a strong knowledge of the market, and an in-depth understanding of customers' wants and needs. I am very lucky to work with the best sales team (Dealer of the Year 2016) and the best product in the market.
When did you join the dealership?
I joined in 2002, at 15 years old, as a part-time vehicle groomer after schools and on weekends, back when the dealership was called Giltrap North Shore. In the following year I joined the dealership in a full-time role, from Sales Cadet to Service Advisor, Service Development Manager and Sales Executive, also helping out in the parts department, before finally becoming Brand Manager and then New Vehicle Sales Manager.
What can you tell us about Mercedes-Benz that we may not know?
When I visited the home of Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart, Germany, in 2014, I had the privilege of a tour through the Sindelfingen Factory. The factory was absolutely amazing; it has over 25,000 employees and produces 310,000 cars per year as just one of many Mercedes-Benz factories around the world. At the time, we watched the C-Class being assembled, but Sindelfingen will now lead Mercedes-Benz in their new product brand, EQ. EQ will be a pure-EV range and - hearing about the performance of these new vehicles - I am very excited to be with Mercedes-Benz for this new generation of product, ETA 2020.
What's our most popular Mercedes-Benz vehicle?
The C-Class is the most popular model. Black and white would be our most popular colours, and the AMG Line our most popular package.
You can have one Mercedes-Benz for the rest of your life. What would it be?
A GLS 63. The GLS is such a great car (even better as a 63). It's a big seven seater yet has the power and handling of a sports car.
What are your interests and hobbies?
I love spending time with my wife, Dauniika, and our daughter, Madeline. To keep fit, I run and get out on my dirt bike as often as I can. Food, wine, travel... all the good things in life. And of course, cars!
