2019 MercedesTrophy Golf Day

On Thursday, 7th March, Mercedes-Benz North Shore hosted the annual MercedesTrophy tournament at the picturesque North Shore Golf Club.
The tournament field was divided into 2 competition divisions with the winner from each division qualifying for the National Final. Titirangi’s David Li from Division 1 (HCP 0 – 14.5) scored 40 stableford points on countback over Xu Han from North Shore GC. In Division 2 (HCP 14.6 – 36.0) Waitemata’s Christine Fleury ran out winner with 38 points.
Li and Fleury will represent Mercedes-Benz North Shore at the Mercedes-Benz National Final held at Cape Kidnappers Golf Resort 26th – 28th April 2019. The National Final will include 16 players from around the country, all trying for that trip of a lifetime to represent Mercedes-Benz New Zealand in the World Finals in Stuttgart, Germany.
For Li, this will be his second time to the Mercedes-Benz National Final, the first was in 2015 where Li secured a place to represent New Zealand in Germany. Under the 30th anniversary of MercedesTrophy, past World Finalists are eligible to compete again as long as they meet the qualifier requirements.
Last year, Fleury was lucky enough to experience what it was like to attend the Mercedes-Benz National Final as a partner, this year will be a whole new experience attending as a player.
