We are pleased to introduce Simon (Seungchul) Yang, the newest Automotive Technician to join our service team. With nearly 7 years of automotive experience under his belt, he will ensure that every vehicle that comes through our door is serviced and repaired to the highest of standards.
In order to get to know Simon better, we asked him to take time out from his busy schedule to answer a few questions.
What's your role at Mercedes-Benz North Shore?
My role as an Automotive technician mainly comprises of inspecting and maintaining vehicles, with a focus on automotive diagnostic, electrical, and programming work. This can range from completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters. I am incredibly passionate about the field and enjoy learning something new every day on the job.
What is an interesting fact about yourself that you would like to share?
When I immigrated to New Zealand in 2006 from South Korea, it was quite a bit of an adjustment/culture shock. Now 12 years later, New Zealand has become my second home and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
What are your interests and hobbies?
In my spare time, I love to travel and explore new places in New Zealand with my family and friends. Aside from discovering popular destinations and creating new memories, I am a massive foodie. You can find me on the weekends trying out new cuisines or cooking various types of dishes from all over the world.
You can have one Mercedes-Benz for the rest of your life. What would it be?
That’s a no brainer, a Mercedes-AMG C 63!
