Meet our Group Marketing Manager, Mark Lincoln

Whether you've visited the website, received an email campaign from us, or interacted with us through social media, you've probably already engaged with Mark and his team and may not even know it! Our award-winning Marketing Manager took some time out of his schedule to answer a few questions.

What do you enjoy the most working at Mercedes-Benz North Shore?
Aside from the vehicles and the brand? Over the years, our business has developed a culture that sets is apart from all others. It’s difficult to put into words; you have to visit the showroom and spend some time with our team to truly appreciate it.

You can have one Mercedes-Benz for the rest of your life. What would it be?
Tough question; don’t make me choose! OK… I’ll go with the GLE. I like the seclusion of driving on my own but I do also have two kids, and the GLE is such a capable all-rounder. I also just can’t get over that new design language. It’s one of those vehicles that you park in the carpark and can’t resist glancing back at before you head into the mall.

If you had to describe yourself in a few words, what would they be?
Husband. Dad. Professional Marketer.

What are your interests and hobbies?
I enjoy the outdoors – my son recently turned 5 and is big enough to venture a little further so we’ve really started to explore some of our local forests and hills. I’m also interested in photography. I have a long way to go but I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos to help me figure out my camera.

Favourite TV Show to binge watch?
Formula 1: Drive to Survive. My wife wouldn’t be a fan, so I watched this Netflix series entirely while sitting on planes over the course of a month. Now that I’ve seen it, I’m trying to encourage her to watch it. It’s less about the cars and more about the intense relationships between the drivers. Worth a watch.

Favourite film?
I can’t choose between Drive, Interstellar, Bladerunner, and Hell or High Water.

What are you most looking forward to this year?
This year sees my son start school and my daughter will reach an age where she’s able to speak more legibly, so I’m looking forward to see how our family dynamic will grow. I’m also looking forward to getting better at photography! We do really enjoy the incredible Mercedes-Benz imagery that we have access to from overseas, but you can’t beat some sensational, local shots of our vehicles.

What radio station are you listening to when you drive?
Actually I’ve discovered podcasts. I was glued to the Chernobyl series, and I regularly listen to the Vox ‘Today Explained’ and New York Times ‘The Daily’, mostly to keep abreast of what’s taking place in the US right now. For real driving music, my playlist includes Fleetwood Mac, Boston, and Led Zeppelin.

Thanks for your time, Mark!
